Library Facilities Policy
Main Library
The only facility at the Main Library for meetings or other events during times the library is not open is the Library's Theater, which can be used under the guidelines established.
The Board Room is available to non-profit groups not to exceed the capacity of the room. Special events sponsored by the Library, such as Children's Activities, Author Visits, etc., are permissible at any time. Special Library Events are coordinated and approved by the Director.
The Library has first priority for all meeting facilities. Any unforeseen Library need will take precedence over any previously scheduled events.
Branch Libraries
If meeting room facilities are available, the meeting room is coordinated through the manager of each particular location. Meeting rooms are available to non-profit groups not to exceed the capacity of the room. Special events sponsored by the Library, such as Children's Activities, Genealogy Seminars, etc., are permissible at any time. A schedule of meeting room times and guidelines for use is available at each location, and are set by the Director of the Library System.

Policy Statement -- Use of the Little Theater
The primary purpose of the Little Theater is to provide a facility for programs and meetings offered by the Library and City/County/State Governmental agencies. The secondary purpose of the Little Theater is to provide a facility for programs and meetings for-profit and non-profit groups and to provide additional income for the Library System. The following policy statement has been developed to assure equal access and opportunity, to all agencies and groups.
Availability
The Little Theater may be used between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The Little Theater may not be used on Sundays or holidays when the Library is closed.
Cost
City/County/State governmental agencies are not charged for use; Non-profit groups are charged $100 per day, $50 for 3 hours or less; For-profit groups are charged $300 per day, $150 for 3 hours or less.
To protect the interests and property of the Library, agencies, groups and organizations must pay designated Library staff member $12.50 per hour, two hour minimum, during the following times: Monday through Thursday after 6 p.m., Friday & Saturday after 4:00 p.m. Governmental agencies may be exempt if approved security is provided by a law enforcement agency.
Scheduling
City/County/State agencies must file appropriate forms with the Library, preferably with a two to six-week notice. Profit and nonprofit groups must file appropriate forms with the Library, minimum two-week notice. Full payment for use is due with the application form. The Little Theater will not be considered reserved until approved by Library Director or designated Library Supervisor, and full payment received.
Rules
1) Absolutely no smoking or the use of alcohol inside the building.
2) The event may not start before, or last longer than the scheduled time. Any time needed to set up for the event should be considered when scheduling the event.
3) All decorations must be removed and the theater cleaned up before the end of the scheduled event. Groups are responsible for all damage to Library property.
4) The Library may require proof of non-profit status, or proof of authenticity, of the company.
5) A 50% refund is available if group or company cancels with two week notice, a 75% refund with one month notice, a 100% refund if Library does not approve application, or if Library cancels scheduled event due to inclement weather, loss of power, or other factors beyond control of organization using theater. No other refunds will be allowed.
6) If applicable, payments to designated Library staff must be made by the time the event is to begin. Failure will result in the cancellation of the event.
7) The Library reserves right to cancel events and use of the theater for violation of these rules, for events that violate fire codes, and for events that violate local, state or federal laws. No refunds will be given for events canceled due to these reasons.
